I believe it’s important for a good designer to also be a good writer. Both user-facing and in their career. Design is about communication and writing is the most common place that communication can be perfected.
In small to medium organizations it’s rare that there’s budget for a dedicated copywriter. To establish the value of good copy, steps can be taken to a/b test copy variants generated by designer/PM teams. This optimization can build momentum to more improvements throughout various user funnels and journeys.
Additionally, marketing copywriting helps designers focused on metrics have more tools in their arsenal of optimization.

I lead regular copywriting workshops for designers (and anyone else interested) to understand how to approach copywriting and how to optimize it within your designs.
I love to work with marketing teams to establish and refine style guides to ensure common language, consistency and nomenclature are enshrined within all surfaces and products of the organization.
